Conversion of Temperatures

Conversion from °Celsius to °Fahrenheit

°Celsius is equal to 32 °Fahrenheit.
0 °C = 32 °F

The temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) is equal to the temperature in degrees Celsius (°C) times 9/5 plus 32.

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32
or
°F = °C × 1.8 + 32

Example 1: Convert 35 degree Celsius to degree Fahrenheit.

Solution:  Here, °C = 35
 °F = °C × 9/5 + 32
°F = 35 × 9/5 + 32
°F = 63 + 32
°F = 95
Thus, temperature in degrees Fahrenheit is 95 °F .

Example 2: Convert 105 °C to °F.

Solution:  Here, °C = 105
 °F = °C × 9/5 + 32
°F = 105 × 9/5 + 32
°F = 189 + 32
°F = 221
Thus, temperature in degrees Fahrenheit is 221 °F.

Conversion from °Fahrenheit to °Celsius

0 degree Fahrenheit is equal to –17.77778 degree Celsius.
0 °F = –17.77778 °C

The temperature in degree Celsius (°C) is equal to the temperature in degree Fahrenheit (°F) minus 32, times 5/9.

°C = (°F – 32) × 5/9
or
°C = (°F – 32) / 9/5
or
°C = (°F – 32) / 1.8

Example 1: Convert 77 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius.

Solution:  Here, °F = 77
°C = (77 °F – 32) × 5/9
     = 45 × 5/9
     = 25 °C
Thus, temperature in degrees Celsius is 25 °C.

Example 2: Convert 113 °F to °C.

Solution:  Here, °F = 113
°C = (113 °F – 32) × 5/9
     = 81 × 5/9
     = 45 °C
Thus, temperature in degrees Celsius is 45 °C.
